I'm tickled to scraps and tatters that I've been invited to a convention in Finland, of all places. I've had a massive culture crush on that crazy place since the day I bought an awful book about it from a library sale bin. It was the driest book you can imagine, and yet, something about the pure informational nature of the thing allowed me to imbue it with a Finland of my mind. July 4-6 2014, I'll be there, at CRYSTAL FAIR CON in Helsinki, probably delusion-busting. But maybe not. I have a powerful imagination.
Daniel Ingram, composer for My Little Pony will be there too, and I suggest we glue him to a piano and make him play every pony tune known to pony. I urge you, if you really want to mail yourself to pony heaven, come with! One thing I'm fairly sure of, regarding Finland, is that it's pretty hard to freak the Finnish people out. BUT WE SHOULD TRY!
I'm stoked that I'll be able to go to the Gallen-Kallela gallery and see work by my newest art-crush, Akseli Gallen-Kallela.
